Learn How to Prune Workshop                       

Saturday, May 20. 9 am-12 noon

Are you mystified by the prospect of caring for the overgrown shrubs and trees in your landscape? In this hands-on workshop we will learn  three ‘secrets’ to unlocking the mystery of correctly pruning  your ornamental and fruiting shrubs, trees too!  

Introduction to Printmaking 

Saturday September 23, 9am-4pm

Learn the basics of relief printmaking in this intensive workshop at Wilder Hill Press amid the beautiful  landscape of Wilder Hill Gardens. Design and carve a  plate, before printing your own  limited series of images with non-toxic Akua inks.  We will cover ghost printing, reduction printmaking, and selective inking as ways to introduce color into your images. No experience required.

 

Cyanotype Printing and Bookmaking workshop

Learn  two important, fun techniques in one workshop! First we will explore the the historic process of Cyanotype printing  to produce gorgeous, Prussian blue images. After creating a mock-up of your books, we will fashion your images in to two significant book types;  a Codex and an Accordion.  The addition of text, collage, threading, additional toning or color are all possibilities. We will learn about bookmaking papers, cover material, bindings and much more. A variety of handmade book will be on display in the studio.


 

Wreath-making workshop and

Studio Open House

Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3

9 am to 4 pm

Drop in anytime between 10:00 and 4:00 to learn the traditional art of wreath-making. Use fresh, mixed greens from Wilder Hill Gardens to craft beautiful wreaths, swags and garlands. All materials provided. Instruction included.

Mixed bundles of greenery will be available for your planters and home decorating.

 

Enjoy a glass of hot, mulled cider by the fire, view the stupas and the 12 ft. long porcelain mosaic.

Shop for original prints, pottery, herbal hydrosols, dried Asian pears, and hand-bound books by Wilder Hill Press.

The 2022 Wreath Making Workshop was so much fun, well attended both days. Everyone made a beautiful wreath from WHG super fresh mixed greenery and berries. There were cookies and hot drinks too.
