Woodblock Printing Workshop

Learn the basics of woodblock carving and relief printmaking in this
intensive one-day workshop at Wilder Hill Press. Design and carve a cherry plate, before printing your own limited edition prints with non-toxic Akua Inks. We will cover two-color printing, reduction printmaking, ghost printing, and selective inking to introduce color into your images. Perfect for beginners and returning students who want to learn to work in wood. Students will bring their own set of woodblock carving tools to class. No experience is required.​

 

 

Cyanotype Printing and Bookmaking Workshop​

Saturday, September 289 am to 4 pm

$160. (Includes all materials)

 

Learn two important, fun techniques in one workshop! First, we will explore the historical process of Cyanotype printing to produce gorgeous, Prussian blue images. After creating a mock-up of your books, we will fashion your images into two significant book types;  a Codex and an Accordion.  The addition of text, collage, threading, additional toning, or color are all possibilities. We will learn about bookmaking papers, cover material, bindings, and much more. A variety of handmade books will be on display in the studio.

Wreath-making workshop and

Studio Open House

Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1

9 am to 4 pm

$20/wreath
$15/swag

 

Drop in anytime between 10:00 and 4:00 to learn the traditional art of wreath-making. Use fresh, mixed greens from Wilder Hill Gardens to craft beautiful wreaths, swags, and garlands. All materials provided. Instruction included.

Mixed bundles of greenery will be available for your planters and home decorating.

 

Enjoy a glass of hot, mulled cider by the fire, and view the stupas and the 12 ft. long porcelain mosaic.

Shop for original prints, pottery, herbal hydrosols, dried Asian pears, and hand-bound books by Wilder Hill Press.

The 2022 Wreath Making Workshop was so much fun, well attended both days. Everyone made a beautiful wreath from WHG super fresh mixed greenery and berries. There were cookies and hot drinks too.
